Company Profile

Wooke Rock Drilling Tools Co., Ltd. was established in 1995 in Yichang, the world-famous hydropower city, in response to the construction of the Three Gorges Project. With nearly three decades of dedicated effort and exploration, Wooke has grown into a leading domestic manufacturer of high air-pressure down-the-hole (DTH) drilling tools. It is recognized as a National High-tech Enterprise, a National Specialized and New Small Giant Enterprise, a Hidden Champion Enterprise of Hubei Province, and an Executive Member of the China Rock-Drill Steel and Tools Association.

Overview of the Advanced Facility

In 2018, the company invested billions of RMB to build a new production facility in Yichang High-tech Industrial Park, covering an area of approximately 60,000 square meters. Full-scale production commenced at the end of 2022. The new facility features upgraded equipment, including over 300 state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC machines and advanced production lines, such as Italian heat treatment systems. With three main production lines for DTH hammers, drill bits, and drill pipes, over 95% of operations are now automated, ensuring precise management and lean manufacturing. This system represents a world-class DTH drilling tool production setup.

Production Capacity

Since its inception, the company has undergone three key phases: a ten-year period of accumulation, a decade of technological breakthroughs, and a decade of high-quality development. Currently, Wooke boasts an annual production capacity of:

• 50,000 sets of high air-pressure DTH hammers,

• 200,000 high air-pressure drill bits,

• 50,000 drill pipes, and

• 15,000 sets of eccentric and concentric casing systems.

The manufacturing process operates on a closed-loop system, ensuring product quality and consistency. Wooke’s products are widely used in rock blasting, mining, earthwork, groundwater extraction, geothermal projects, and construction foundations. Approximately 60% of its products are exported to over 40 countries and regions worldwide.

Achievements and Honors

Patents

Wooke has obtained over 60 national patents and 3 international patents. Its independently developed "WIMON" and "Cyclone" series products, named in Chinese, have become mainstream in market applications, pioneering numerous advanced manufacturing processes for high air-pressure DTH drilling tools.

Wooke has earned a multitude of honors, including:

Locally, it has been recognized as a pilot enterprise in Yichang's innovation and growth engineering program for small and medium-sized technology enterprises, and awarded Yichang’s Enterprise Development Award.

Core Team

Wooke has established a city-level High Air-Pressure DTH Drilling Tools Engineering Technology Center and developed a team of 45 R&D personnel. The company has engaged 9 senior consultants from domestic and international backgrounds. Wooke employs over 300 staff members, including:

3 master’s degree holders returning from the UK,

A research and development workforce comprising approximately      15% of the team,

60% professional technical talent, and

Over 80 employees with college degrees or higher (about 20% of      the total workforce).
